Selene's adventure

"Thanks....it was my mother's. Now lay down and close your eyes." She says watching his face and smiling. She felt a thousand strong and a thousand skillful but it faded as soon as it came. She waited carefully placing her fingers near the strings.

Zack sighs and does as she says and takes the small box he collected this morning and lays it on his chest, hugging it tight. He slowly closes his eyes and finds himself feeling warm again and yet surrounded by darkness.

Ayah started playing the harp the sound echoing through the woods in a weird and spooking way but at the same time soothing and relaxing. She started humming to the harp's cords and she smiled.

Zack sighed and sleepily yawned. He rolls to his side and loosely holds the box to him. His grip fails as he drifts to sleep. The box finally falls gently to the floor and in front of him. He snores softly, indicating he had fallen asleep.

Ayah kept playing hoping it would rid the creatures of his mind. Her fingers stummed the harp faster and sweeter. She tried to keep it simple but beautiful making it work for his problems but she wondered what he could be dreaming.

He twitches and shakes a little but then goes still after mumbling "What do you want with me.. "

Ayah keeps playing the harp a little worried. "If it gets too bad I'll wake him..." She whispers to herself a little paincky from the sight of her friend but she kept playing anyway.

He shakes a little and clenches the box closer to him. He makes a shooshing noise but then his eyes shoot open. He rolls onto his back and shoots up with a "NO!" His breathing is heavy and he curls up into a ball, resting his head on his knees.

Ayah walks over to him and pats his back softly. "Hey...you're okay. They didn't get you." She says trying to reasure him.

"Nope those things didn't get me." He doesn't smile, he just stares at the floor with insanely dialated pupils and shaking hands. Luckily he hadn't dropped his box.

She tries to pull him but to no avail. She pulls on him harder. She hated not being super strong. She gives up and stops pulling and lets her arms fall to herside. "Zack...."

Zack looks up at Ayah and tilts his head, eyes still huge from traumatizing dreams. He blinks and stares at her, not able to say anything for fear of them hearing him.

She sighs and lies near him. She then takes her arms and wraps them around him her face on his back. "It's ok...nothing can hurt you while I'm here. I'll keep you safe." She says into his back since she was smaller than him.

Zack buries his face into his knees and closes his eyes. "Thanks for trying..." He whispers, still scared as of what might be lurking somewhere and waiting to pounce out at him to kill him. His paranoid mind then begins to wander, loosing itself in darkness.

"Its the least I could do." She says thinking of ways to calm him down. "Do you want me to get your Grandpa?" She asked still a little worried.

"N-no it's a-alright.. I-I can get there m-myself.."Zack stutters. He tries to get up but stumbles, landing face first into his arms.

Ayah crawls over to Zack. "No you can't! Lets stay here until you feel better. I'll make sure you sleep sound ok?" She says knowing the minute he falls asleep she'll go get his grandpa.

"Alright.. "he sighs as he rolls over on the warm forest ground. His face is left slightly bruised from the fall but there was nothing serious, except for the images and voices telling him what to do even though he didn't obey them.

Ayah sighed and lied next to him again wrapping her arms around him and trying to comfort him. She felt safe here with him and she hoped he felt the same way.

Zack stares up at the few stars showing through the mess of trees. He looks as if all of his childhood was somehow screwed with or something. Usually when people first met him they'd see a crazy animal child but Ayah was different... She had excepted him for the way he was. That made him happy on the inside.

She nuzzled her face into his back slowly falling alseep. Her warm body pressed against his and the world started to fade from her vision as she fell alseep.

Zack gets lost in thought, nuzzling into the warmness a little. He closes his eyes and decides to just rest a while.

A twig snaps and Ayah launches up. A shadow stands there watching them. "Wh-who are you....?" She asks and the figure steps out of the trees and she lets her breath out standing there was her father. He was so dead she got home.

Zack never exactly fell asleep but when he heard the twig he almost had a heart-attack. He closed his eyes and slowed his breathing to make it look convincing that he was actually asleep. 'I'm sorry friend if you get in trouble. This was probably a bad idea.. I should have gone home when I told you I would.' he thought. His mind raced as well as the voices. They got louder and began to laugh at him. The same darkness surrounds his mind and he begins to shake.

Ayah shook Zack lightly. "Zack. Hey Zack wake up." She said and her dad stood behind her. Her father cleared his throat telling his daughter to hurry and she stuck her tongue out. "Come Zack you need to go home. Your grandpa might be able to help you."
