A mirror?

AO: i got a mirror.
AO: what am i supposed to do with a mirror?

AO: i'll just try it all.

Eviete tried looking in the mirror.  Nothing happened.

AO: not looking at it.

She tried starting a fire with it, but a few minutes in, she decided it wouldn't be a good idea to start a fire in her hive.

Instead of finding a pool of water, she just went outside since her house is underwater. She swam to the surface and faced the mirror towards the water. The light reflected back and forth, then there was a flash of light.

Suddenly, she was in a different world.
