Find the Lusūs [ GRUB TRIALS / GO TO RECRUITMENT THREAD TO JOIN ]

Deep within the Brooding Caverns, lying within a single space, sat several clusters of eggs. Reds, browns… blues and purples, many colors of the hemospectrum reside in their respective caste-groups.
Today, some of these eggs will break, and out will come young grubs. They will make their journey through these taverns, and will be put through the Trials; a test of life and death. Many may be triumphant, it happens, but some will be a bit… unlucky.
And all they have to go on is a distinct smell, and a certain noise…

And find the lusūs.

There was movement within a bed of rust-colored eggs. A single egg wiggled in it's spot, the being inside trying to break through the thin barrier. One crack, two… A third, and suddenly, there was a head. The grub 'SCREE'd, confused as to why everything was upside down. Only a few seconds later, when she finally managed to break the egg open, did she discover she was the one upside down.

Her name, in some distant future, would be Aidara Nippon. But as of right now, she is currently nameless. And thirsty. When she flips over, the rustblooded grub measles on over to a conviently placed pool of water. She mavels at the purple blurs (eggs) inside of it for a moment, but then continues to drink.

Meanwhile, in a nest of Olive colored eggs, emerged another young troll. Climbing out of it's shell, the grub scampered near the same small pond, and also quenched it's thirst. In the near future, it would be bestowed to name Wervus Artima, but at the present moment, she is anonymous.

Aidara chirped at the newest arrival, lifting a claw up to wave at the olive blooded-grub. She scampered over to the newest grub, and without much thought, began to examine. The rust blood sniffed at her side, and even began to poke at her hair. She squeaked, cautiously climbing on the other to examine the top of her head.

… And began to tease and play with what hair 'Wervus' had. She was intrigued, to say the least.

The grub simply chuckl-squeaked, and began to prod at her as well.

She cooed in delight, nuzzling her playmate as she prodded the olive blood's underbelly.

A moment after, the grub stopped. What was that smell? Scuttling off of Wervus, she began wandering to the entrance of the cave, sniffing the air curiously. There was then a noise. A yelp of some sort? She didn't really understand it, but it sounded as though it said, 'Come.' She turned back to Wervus, squeaking at her questioningly, DID YOU HEAR TOO?

An egg from the brown nest began to wiggle around, before long it ended up rolling away from the other eggs and smacked the wall. The egg shook violently before the grub that would come to be known as Cyanyd broke a hole through the egg and shot out, landing flat on his face in the process. Dizzily he pulled himself up and shook his head to help himself focus on his surrounding better.
Cyanyd looks over at the other grubs after shaking away his dizziness and stares intensly at them, wondering what they were doing and why.

Not very far from the freshly hatched wrigglers, a small yellow egg was beginning to shiver as though with excitement. With what could have been seen as determination, the yellow egg rolled itself from beneath a few of the others, wobbling to an unsteady halt as momentum rocketed it closer to the other's, narrowly missing the wrigglers as it steamrolled into the water source, cracking ever so slightly as it did so. But it was enough.

As it came to rest in the water, the gentle pool carrying the egg leisurely to the top after momentarily sinking, a hatching sound came from the egg. Very slowly, a gleaming gold set of eyes was staring at the three.
The one-day troll that would be known as Velara had hatched, and she was mimicking the same look that Cyanyd was offering to the two oldest wrigglers.

Hearing the commotion behind her, Wervus quickly answered her Rust blooded companion with a shrug, and turned to see the two newly born grubs. She shyly squeaked a greeting and crawled toward them.

Aidara looked back towards the newest grubs, and slowly backed away from the cavern's exit to examine them. The rust blood offered quiet chirps in greeting to the brown blood, but then stared in confusion at the yellow blood. She couldn't quite get to her, since Velara was in the water in her egg-boat. She chirped at her, wondering if she were able to get out to them or not.

Cyanyd would not be a troll of many words, not unless he really got to know you, instead he gave the rust-blooded grub a nod to show that he was acknowledging her as to prevent her from thinking that he's ignoring her. No point in being rude to someone you don't even know yet.

Figuring it would be cruel to leave the Yellow blood, Wervus tried to reach Velara, but ended up falling into the pond. Surfaceing, she quickly clung to the egg shell, quietly squeaking for assisstace.

When the yellow blooded grub caught sight of the green wriggler cautiously inching forward, she gave a an acknowledging trill that squeezed out of a small smile. She rolled her large eyes over to Cyanyd just in time to see him give the olive blood a nod, and then shifted her gaze over to focus on the burgundy wriggler that was   squeaking at her. At first, Velara couldn't figure out the trouble - until she looked down and realized that her egg was all the stood between her and the water below.
The mustard wriggler's eyes grew about two sizes bigger at the sudden realization, and then shifted back to the young Aidara, uncertainty eating her expression as she leaned forward a bit to stick one of her six stubby legs in the water, as though to test it out.
However, as she was doing this, the green wriggler had fallen into the water, and was now clinging to the egg shell.
Velara chirped in horror before grabbing the older grub and putting in what she hoped would be enough effort to pull the other in.

Fortunately, Velara had enough and pulled the elder grub up. With a sigh of relief, Wervus gave the Yellow blood a hug, nuzzling her affectionately as a sign of gratitude.

Aidara squeaked in worry, scuttling about the edge of the pool. Two of them were now stuck in the water, and she honestly had no clue how to get them out of such a situation. The rust blood's worry, believe it or not, would most likely be Velara's and Wervus' savior, as it seems that her emotions were causing quite a mysterious series of events! Her dark burgundy eyes, unbeknownst to her, were quickly flashing to a brighter red then back, and Aidara herself had a slight white glow around her.

Huh, it seems that the rust blooded-grub has been granted some sort of psychic-ability. This is all oblivious to her, though, because her worry has her wildly scurrying about the edge of their pool.

Cyanyd watched the grubs struggling just a few feet from him, he argued with himself whether or not he should do something. Soon enough his lack of sympathy, especially to those he doesn't know, kicked in and he stopped worrying about it. First impressions with him would probably be quiet and uncaring of the others feelings as he grew up, but he'd learn that on his own time.
Cyanyd slowly worked his way to the pond before taking a seat next to it and watching to see what events would unfold. He was very curious and would be observant of what went on around him as long as nothing else caught his attention.

Startled, Wervus crawled toward the center of the egg shell, giving her slight comfort. She hoped what ever was happening would stop.
