Hello.
Hello, I am new to both this site and doing rp, so if I mess up on either interacting with this site, or interacting on this site, please accept my apologies. I don't really know what else to say other than asking whether or not it is strange or unusual that I would not post anything here for over a month after creating my account just because I was too nervous to.

Re: Hello.
Welcome to our wonderful site!! I am Cocoa and I am here if you need any help what so ever. And worried not, you have lots of room to learn how to rp here. And no, its not weird, i mean you could have made an account and never came back right? Hahaha its really cool you came back. Thank you for that. :33
Re: Hello.
I was wondering if you had any advice as far as creating an oc goes. I've sort of hit a mental block.

Re: Hello.
advice? i can lay down some of the advice stuff.
you could just think of a base personality and work from there, or you can look up classpects and work backwards on the rest of a character based on a classpect. or model the personality based off of someone from a movie, anime, game, show, comic book, or whatever you like! just try not to be too blatant about it, unless you're going for a direct insert.
if you have a typical type of character, then i would suggest you do that first, though, so that you're within your comfort zone.
as well as those, work a little bit of yourself into the character. maybe you yourself absolutely cannot stand fish? make your character not like fish! putting little bits of you in a character can really make it easier to play them. at least, for me. may not work for you, but it's still advice!
generally, if you're new to roleplaying, more specifically homestuck roleplaying, try to stay in your comfort zone, but toe the line a little. that doesn't mean you should be shy around us, though, we're good people, and most of us have quite a bit of time invested in roleplaying, so we can show you the ropes. been doing it nearly eight years! ((and i've certainly come a long way. glad my old site medium is dead, so i can't look at my old cringy self.))
oh, and because i almost forgot, welcome to the forum!

Re: Hello.
That would be very helpful as well. I'm not very good at writing purely informative descriptions of people.

Re: Hello.
purely informative? i'm not that good at it, either, so i tend to throw jokes in there. if you need the help, though, just ask!
