A Bard's Story: Everybody Dies [Interactive Story, Open]

Warnings:
- Death of all flavors.
- This story is going to spoil a lot of TV, movies, and other media prior to the year 1980.

This will mainly just be commands and I'll pick the one I feel is the most entertaining or most fitting. Sometimes there might be a poll. I also hope to get some interaction from artists, if anybody would like to provide illustrations at any time, PM me here or mention me on the HSRP Discord. I'll edit illustrations in and credit people where necessary.

Anyways, the story of the bard of doom begins.


A young human skeleton wearing bardic pajamas lies on the ground of a rather discolored ruins that appears rather ornate. It just so happens that today, the 27th of September, 2017, is said corpse's 50th death-anniversary. The story of the bard of doom has ended.

The blade in its chest seems to be an indication of how it died.
You however aren't a forensics expert so you aren't really that sure.

> Retrieve arms from the ground.

It is unable to do that. It seems that due to being dead, it has long lost the ability to do such a thing. It seems it has actually lost the ability to do anything.

> Be somebody else.

You are now yet another dead human. You're not even sure you'd qualify this one as a skeleton. The remains are so decimated that it's quite difficult to distinguish the body from the room and it's difficult to distinguish the room from the house. All of which are equally decimated.

The explosion marks around the large crater you're in seems to be an indication of how you died.
You however aren't a forensics expert so you aren't really that sure.

Oddly, there is a very well preserved pair of arms nearby. Within its left palm there appears to be a locket of some sort.

You are unable to do that. It seems that due to being dead, you have long lost the ability to such a thing. It seems you've actually lost the ability to do anything.

They're dead too.

I hate to break it to you this way, but...
They're dead. They're all dead. You know that person you were about to be? Yeah, they're dead. Everybody's dead. Everybody is dead. Everybody is so utterly fucking dead.

The worst part is that this was all avoidable and very unfortunate. I know those are very common things to say, but it's true. If at any time, anybody did anything else or if at any time luck was different, everybody would be alive and they would have won the game and become gods of a new universe. But they didn't. I hate to beat a dead horse, but everybody is dead. The aforementioned dead horse was dead before the story began but was still beaten mercilessly.

You realize that doing that will only take you to the start of THIS timeline, right? You will only be making the exact same decisions and have the same exact luck as last time. The same exact ending. Everybody will die then you yourself will die. You understand that, right?

Well, this wouldn't be the first time you restarted.

You are currently the dead bard of doom, well, except alive and not yet a realized bard. It just so happens that today, September 28th 1977 (50 years and 1 day before your death) is exactly 3 years after your 10th BIRTHDAY.

You are rather SUPERSTITIOUS so you say things like 10+3 and 12b to avoid even saying the number thirt... -y minus seventeen *ahem* thirty minus seventeen. You also don't like the number 2 times 2 due to its association with death in some Asian cultures. You do this because you believe you can stop bad things from happening to you if you try avoiding certain things. You do this because you feel that fate is flexible and it cares about what you say and do. Your beliefs are false.

Like many other kids at your age, you have a variety of INTERESTS. Also like most other kids your age, you have seen and enjoyed the recently released movie STAR WARS in which a young man named Luke Skywalker who lived a long time ago in a galaxy far far away whou found a message that lead him to an old hermit named Ben Kenobi who tells him-

Oops. Sorry. Your second worst QUALITY is that you commonly give out SPOILERS. It's primarily because one of your biggest INTERESTS is STORY, especially PLOT which you are rather obsessed with. Your worst QUALITY is that you are hopelessly STARRY-EYED. You are a huuuuuge fan of HAPPY ENDINGS and always expect them in REAL LIFE.

Your other INTERESTS include BOOKS (especially those of the MYSTERIOUS variety), watching TELEVISION and MOVIES, and ADVENTURE. People tend to laugh at this, but you really want to one day save the world or maybe even the universe (or even just one person) from some GREAT TRAGEDY.

This is of course foolish and, as you are going to find out, absolutely absurd. The world is going to be ravaged by meteorites, the universe is going to be put at severe peril then be destroyed, every single person is going to die. And so on.
