Culture building Game (Interest Check)

Yo Yo yo, to keep the trend of games not focusing on the Sburb stuff, I'd like to put this thread here to see if people ar einterested in playing a game.

This game would take the fan races of this site, trolls, and humans and place them in a fantasy world. In this fantasy world, players would control a whole race as they work their way up from Stone age tribe to a modern society and beyond perhaps. Players would have a set number of actions per post they can do, and a gm (there would likely be a need for more then my self) would post not only the results of the actions, but increases in supplies, food, growth and other suchs things while also introducing random events they choose to use.

EX. "I have my trolls gather food all day"

"You trolls find a large amount of food, roughly 10 units of it. However, as you were gathering, your trolls reported smoke in the distant hills. They feel as if there are intruders to your territory"

Stuff like that.

While there would be stats and such, the game will largely be freeform allowing players to react to situations in their own way with their own ideas. This will even apply to how your race learns to harness psionics, Magic, or technology. Maybe your race forsakes magic for Psionic power, or maybe forsakes both of those for technology. Or even maybe you try to find a combination or two or all three to create a culture unique to the world.

to keep things simple, I'd likely be able to handle three player son my own. However, if another person offers to help GM, and i approve, we can increase that to six. The Gm would be able to play their own race as well if they wanted, and i'd handle dming for them while they handle dming for me if i decide to throw my hat in the ring.

I'd likely create a map of the world and use it to track peoples growth over time, letting people get their own tiny portions of the map as they explore if they decide to have their people start drawing a map up. of course, you'de have to find a way to have a way to write or draw anything :P

Post interest here if you're interested, and also include a Fan race or two on this site you'd like to have in the game. I'll judge them, alongside the other gm if one pops up, and give them starting stats, a choice of starting locations, and both positive and negative qualities that can affect their play.

Right now, I got Underworld stories interested, and he's suggested the poreillas, mandrakes, and etawaj races to be included into the game as possible choice. You can present multiple choices as well, and I can go through them to see who gets in or not. Of course, if there's a popular demand for a certain race, that race will have a higher chance of getting in.

I would like to run with my Dreadion race in this match. I will however Nerf them so they don't have their head start on civilization or the ability to enter the dread zone. there will however still be creatures like Devil rejects that I would like to be around my race in this match. sort of like wild animals that could be tamed or used for resources. The idea of maybe involving native species from each race into the would could be a fun take so for example we can have stuff like Fairy bulls from the troll race.
Also by any chance are you planing to have it play out like a 4x civ game?

Sorta yeah Devil, only imagine magic, psionics, gods, demons, and all sort sof shit going down as well. As for animal from respective races canon homeworld, sure. Give me a list of them and i can try to incorporate them into locations where the race would be found.

As for the nerf, pm me the specifics. I'm heading to bed now so I don't have the time to read through your thing tonight.

Hold off on animal lists for now, and consider a back up race you wanna play as, in the situation the race you wanted primarily doesn't get allowed in due to some reason.

Also, when you say 'starting from stone age,' I propose that's it's like, (number) of your race start in a cave. "You'd better find something to eat before night comes!"

I'm gonna start reading your fan races, and getting an idea weather or not they can be in the game. I'll be saving denial as a last resort though so don't worry.

While You wait, think up three positive traits of the race that would affect their survival or abilities, and 2 to three negative ones. Make sure they balance one another. When you have the list, pm them to me and and i can work with you to make a balanced race with what i have in mind.

Alright Everyone, I think I'll be starting this soon. I need everyone to decide weather or not they want to have their people be placed randomly on the map, or weather they would like a choice between two locations.

In addition, I need you to create a character who shall be the eternal leader of your people. They cannot die of disease, age, or injury. However, they can be killed. If they are killed, you people wil ltake a massive hit to their unity and will be far more likely to turn on one another. The Leader will take 1 turn to come back from the beyond, and this will increase by one turn each subsequent death at a maximum of 3. At three turns, the race will scatter to the wind and will become forever broken, meaning a loss.

Luckily, These Eternals are Closely related to the gods, of whom your people must discover before they can worship them or anything else. This relation leads them to be better then the best of their race, and make them great warriors in their own ways. try to use this eternal as a sort of Mythical figure, your people's gilgamesh, your people's Hercules, your King Arthur. Embrace the myth and lore that'll likely be built around this character.

Finally, once all that's done, I will PM you each something to help give you a sorta goal to focus yourselves around, if you so choose. These are here to help you if you have an issue with figuring out what you wanna do and all. They'll be obtainable since the beginning. However, be warned, they will be difficult quests to complete as they should be.
