Phobia (Aspect) Empty Phobia (Aspect)

Post by Damnationsedge Sun May 10, 2015 4:56 pm

Name: Dread
Meanings: Paranoia, Phobia, Delusion
What personality gets this Aspect: The Dread aspect is usually found in people who are naturally easy to scare or have a very grim outlook.
Examples of Powers of Aspect: The Dread aspect draws upon the subconscious and survival instincts causing some threats to seem far more fearsome or otherwise simple and safe situations to take on a terrifying look. For example a Seer of Dread would witness delusions that while horrific contain truths or even more horrific visions of the future. A Maid of Dread would create fear and so cause others to witness instances of terror and mind tricks that torment them. The Heir of Dread would be guided by their fear causing seemingly innocent but dangerous individuals or places to show the threat they really pose to ensure the Heir is appropriately on edge around them.
Symbol: The symbol for Dread is an eclipse with the obscuring object being grasped.
Colors: Phobia (Aspect) 1_zps9i3mpdgz

Point being? As I understood there can be some degree of repetition in fan aspects. We've already got about three aspects that centre around water and Chaotic has made the point that two fan aspects can be similar since neither are canon. Whats more your aspect and mine aren't the same.

Fear can range anywhere from a slight fear of pricking your finger while sewing, to a pure, unending fear that you will slip and stab it into your eyeball, slowly jamming it into your frontal lobe.

I.E. claustrophobia, trypophobia, sedatephobia, selachophobia, selaphobia, selenophobia. Respectively, fear of small places, fear of small patterns of holes, fear of silence, fear of sharks, fear of brightly flashing lights, and fear of the moon.

For example, I have sedatephobia. I get uncomfortable when things start getting quiet, but will go into a full-scale panic attack if there is no man-made noise that isn't coming from me and what I'm doing. Phobia would, by all accounts, cover the middle-to-extreme spectrum, whereas fear can, "cover the entire spectrum", since fear is given no real limit, it's a general noun/verb.

I don't, it's just that I felt like your aspect was to close to my own, but I have moved on already.

The issue is is that they're synonyms but never given the exact same context, annotation, or connotation. The idea can differ from person to person.

In the End, though, it's up for our Guardians to choose whether it's coolio or not.

And I'm not going to Apollo-gize for my puns, be they musical or Greek.

Okay first off we have already established that fan classes and aspects are allowed to have overlap so its okay that they are similar, though admittedly it doesn't say that anywhere.
My second point here is that its against the rules to judge original content if you aren't a mod or admin. Consider this a very light warning because of the misunderstanding. Next time please PM me or Dex.
Also @AC they are pretty similar aspect wise, considering that Fear has Phobia in its description and Phobia has Fear in its description.

Now that all that is done.

Phobia is three syllables, max is two.
